MY PRIORITIES

Making every dollar go further

Maywood Park has a limited tax base. I want to pursue every reasonable opportunity to bring outside resources into our community and make our local dollars go further.

PRIORITY 1: BRINGING OUTSIDE FUNDING

Show Me the Money

Maywood Park should be proactive—not passive—when it comes to finding resources. I want to identify grants and other funding opportunities at the regional, state, and federal levels that can help pay for projects our community needs.

My professional experience navigating government agencies, permitting processes, and funding opportunities gives me a practical understanding of how to pursue these resources. I also bring experience with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the environmental review requirements that can come with federally funded projects. That means I understand not just how to find funding, but how to anticipate the regulatory requirements that can affect a project from the beginning. I want Maywood Park competing for every grant we can realistically pursue.

PRIORITY 2: PROTECTING OUR RESIDENTS

Plan Smart. Protect What We’ve Built.

Much of Maywood Park’s infrastructure is aging, and maintaining it will be one of the most significant challenges facing our community in the coming years. Our streets, water systems, stormwater infrastructure, and other essential public assets require thoughtful, long-term planning to keep them safe, reliable, and affordable to maintain. I support planning ahead, prioritizing critical needs, and pursuing available funding so we can address problems before they become more costly—and protect both our community and our homeowners.

I will look for opportunities to combine local resources with state, federal, regional, and county funding wherever possible.

PRIORITY 3: INVESTING IN COMMUNITY

Invest in the Community We Love

A strong community is more than roads and infrastructure. It’s the places where neighbors gather, connect, and build a sense of belonging. I support pursuing grants and partnerships to create a welcoming, usable community space at The Commons—one that can support neighborhood events, traditions, and everyday connections. I envision thoughtful improvements such as a small playground for children, comfortable seating and gathering areas for adults and older residents, and spaces that give people of all ages a reason to spend time together.

LET’S MOVE MAYWOOD FORWARD — TOGETHER.

Have an idea for a grant, partnership, or community project? I want to hear from you.
