Kevin Bussema, Maywood Park City Council President & Candidate for City Council
I’m proud to support Katy Collins for Maywood Park City Council.
Katy is exceedingly intelligent and deeply passionate about our community. I’ve grown to respect the knowledge and experience she brings, particularly her background in engineering, grant writing, environmental work, and working with government agencies at the local, state, and federal levels, including experience with NEPA.
Katy cares deeply about getting things right. She does her homework, asks important questions, and is willing to engage seriously with difficult issues rather than shy away from them.
Maywood Park needs new leadership for the challenges ahead. Some of the issues facing our city have lingered for too long, and the next Council will need to do more than manage around them. We need to make decisions, strengthen relationships beyond our borders, and bring the experience and perspective necessary to move our city forward.
That’s why I believe Katy is particularly well suited for this moment. Her experience working across government, her technical and environmental knowledge, and her commitment to Maywood Park would bring valuable new capacity to the Council.
The years ahead will require thoughtful, capable people willing to take on complicated work and prepare Maywood Park for the future.
I believe we need Katy on the Council, and I’m proud to support her candidacy.
Endorsement made in my personal capacity.
Bill and Kate Lamb, long-time residents of Maywood Park
Katy is just the kind of person we need for Maywood’s city council. She has a great love for our community and she has experience that we need on the council. We have had many discussions with Katy over our concerns and we are convinced she can do the job that Maywood Park needs for us to thrive as a city in the future.
LET’S MOVE MAYWOOD FORWARD — TOGETHER.
